May Day in Pirton

For the May bank holiday Phoenix made their annual trip to Pirton as guests of Baldock Midnight Morris to perform at the Pirton May Fair

Julian did a great job as the only male dancer dancing for Phoenix at the event.

Celebrating St George

This year for St George’s day, Phoenix were delighted to be invited back to the Case is Altered by our friends the Merrydowners and their guests Whitethorn.

We had a good turn out of Dancers old and new including a debut dance out by our now youngest member, Peter, who follows in his brother’s footsteps and joined the side at the end of last year.

Another Great night out!

Festive cheer in the New year

Christmas may have come and gone a month ago but that didn’t stop Phoenix from holding their annual Christmas dinner in late January.

As is the custom,  side members gathered to enjoy a slap up meal followed by an evening of music and dancing (with chopsticks and napkins to save space!). It was a great turn out and good to see some of our new members join us for the fun,  not to mention a few gatecrashers… you knows who you are!

A Wedding of Royal Standards

On a cold, snowy January afternoon  Phoenix Morris gathered at the Royal Standard to help celebrate a rather unconventional wedding!

It may have been cold but everyone was in high spirits as Phoenix processed the couple into the venue and provided an arch of sticks as well as entertaining wedding guests outside.

Thank you to the happy couple for letting us be part of your special day and here’s wishing all kinds of blessings in your future lives together!

A couple of dances followed by eating of the cake which found a fine Young King Andrew, so off to the Ceremony in Stones Orchard then back to the pub for more dancing and making merry with Music & Song.
