Saturday 5th September, and Phoenix were once again at Wallingford Bunkfest in Oxfordshire.

Bunkfest is a 3 day music festival in Wallingford, now in its 22nd year, starting from a small marquee in a pub car park, expanding over the years to what we have today.

We did four spots across the town, including the “Bunk Line” a restored heritage railway station & line.

The 1st location was outside the MMR building (a product development agency) Here we danced with ‘Armaleggan’ a Border Morris side from Oxford.

Next it was on to the Boat House. A very large pub on the bank of the River Thames. Here we danced with Ellington Morris. Then it was time for a lunch break

Refreshed & replenished, it was time to go to the Market Place to take our turn with Cry Havoc, a Cotswold side from Oxfordshire.

Finally it was a bit of a walk to reach the ‘Bunk Line’ A restored section of the Cholsey & Wallingford branch line on the edge of town. Here we shared “station duties” with Black Path Border. Who hail from Borough areas South London.

Dancing finished, and time for a it of relaxation, with some enjoying an ice cream break. However one member took the advantage to take a ride on the train. It’s just a short hop & back between the two stations (Wallingford & Cholsey) But it’s an all day ticket, so you may journey as many times as you wish.
